A Whisper...

The birth of my business, Studio 1474 Artworks, all started with a whisper from God. I started painting many years ago, but life and work got in the way and I put painting on the "back burner." After my job was eliminated and I was laid off due to Covid-19, while sitting around the house looking for projects I heard God's whisper to start painting again!

When One Door Closes...

After being laid off from a 21-year job I was scared and didn't know what to do with my life. But, after many discussions with God and my number one fan (my mom, Dottie), I felt compelled to start creating more art and actually selling my creations.

Mustard Seed Faith...

Some might not understand this header "Mustard Seed Faith," but when things seem impossible and too big to handle, all you need is faith that God can do the impossible and help get you through... even a little faith - faith as small as a mustard seed - is all you need to see what awesome things God can do in and with your life. Having faith in God and His promises, and listening to His initial whisper, has brought the idea of starting my business to fruition!

We are meant to be good stewards – to cultivate and to share the gifts and talents God has entrusted us with. Today, do a good deed… listen to that still, small voice inside your heart; share your time, resources, knowledge and/or story with someone. It may seem insignificant to you at the time, but your action can have a significant effect – give someone a compliment, buy a cup of coffee or meal for a stranger in need, listen to your friend or neighbor who is going through a difficult time and just needs to talk, help your co-worker by showing him/her a computer shortcut you’ve learned – sometimes you don’t really know what someone else is going through, but your small gesture can make a huge impact on their life.
